If you haven’t had the chance to bask in a summery music festival that is jazzy at the core, well, head over to nipaluna or Hobart’s Eastern Shore. There, at the Clarence Jazz Festival 2023 for five days from the 1st of February, you’ll get spoiled with the choice of music, art, and finely crafted food.

Innovative jazz at beautiful locations throughout the city of Clarence – from the opening celebration at piyura kitna (Risdon Cove) in collaboration with the Tasmanian Aboriginal Centre to the Big Day at Kangaroo Bay on the banks of the Derwent River.

This year sees lutruwita/ Tasmanian culinary delights take centre stage as they feature curated local food and beverages at every event.

Jazz Festival Ambassador Sandy Evans (sax)is joined by Bobby Singh (tablas), Sarangan Sriranganathan (sitar, voice), Brett Hirst (bass), and Alon Ilsar (drums, airsticks) as they present an uplifting and truly unique fusion of jazz and Indian classical music, paying tribute to the teachings of Mahatma Gandhi.

Internationally renowned saxophonist and Launceston local Spike Mason presents exciting original work with an all-star quintet.
